Focused Art Photography, our dedication to "capturing the imagine nation" goes beyond our love for the art of modern
photography. It reaches into the past to recapture and renew the visual images of days gone by. Whether your memories
are from last year or early in the last century, our dedication to restoration and preservation will create a lasting and
meaningful heritage for generations to come.
Born in Bogota Colombia, Ms. Mitchell immigrated to Chicago, Illinois with her family at the tender age of three. Her first
love affair with photography occurred in the mid 1970's with the acquisition of her first 35 mm camera, with which she
photographed the greater Chicago area as well as portraits of her young son. Since relocating to Phoenix, Arizona in 1996,
Patricia has pursued a career in the burgeoning tech field. Her proficiency with computer hardware and software combined
with new digital photo technology focused her lifelong passion for photography and world travel in a whole new direction and
Focused Art Photography was born.
The only child of artistic parents, Ms. Smith cannot recall a time when she wasn't interested in some form of creative
expression. After spending 15 years teaching and choreographing ballet and lyrical dance, Ms. Smith decided to hang up
her dancing shoes and pursue her other passion, the visual and graphic arts. As part of the 2girlsgraphics design team,
she sharpened the skills that would eventually lead to the forming of Sapphic Graphics Design Cafe. Like Ms. Mitchell, she
became interested in photography in much the same way and in the same era. Ms. Smith's graphics and visual compositions
became newly directed with the merging of photographic images and patterns into her design work. She is delighted to be
part of a team that helps people to develop their "photographic memories." Originally from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Ms.
Smith has lived in Phoenix for 24 years.
